Connect Search Console

Pull search queries, clicks, impressions and positions into Numative and join them with your detected content changes.

Search Console is independent of your analytics source: any site can connect it, whether it uses the Numative tracker or runs in GA4 mode. The connection is read-only (the OAuth grant requests only the webmasters.readonly scope) and the tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, the same as GA4 tokens.

Connect

  1. 1

    Start from site Settings

Open your site's Settings tab, find the Google Search Console card and click connect. You are sent to Google to approve read-only access.

  2. 2

    Confirm the property

Numative automatically binds the Search Console property that matches your site's domain, preferring a domain property (sc-domain:) over a URL-prefix one. If the match is wrong, switch it in Settings; every verified property your Google account can read is listed.

  3. 3

    Open the Search tab

Data appears under Search in the site's navigation. A new connection backfills the last 90 days on its first scheduled run, so history fills in without any setup.

The Search tab

  • Overview. Headline totals plus your top search queries and top landing pages, each with clicks, impressions, CTR and average position (impression-weighted). Both tables cover the selected date range and can be exported as CSV.
  • Content performance. A per-page report that joins Search Console with Numative's change detection: for each page, clicks, impressions and position for the current period versus the previous period of equal length, alongside the content, title and meta changes detected on that page in the window. Pages with detected changes sort first, so you see how search responded to what you edited.

Daily ingestion

Beyond the live reports, a scheduled job stores a daily rollup of your Search Console data. This history powers the content-decay report and rank-tracking features and is what makes period comparisons fast.

DetailValue
ScheduleDaily at 05:45 UTC, one run per connected site
Data lagSearch Console finalizes data about 2 days behind, so each run ingests the day from 2 days ago
Backfill90 days, automatic on the first run after connecting
Kept per dayTop 250 queries and top 250 pages by impressions, with clicks, impressions and weighted position

Keyword auto-seeding

If your plan includes rank tracking, the rank checker tops up each site's keyword list from its Search Console data: the top queries by clicks over the last 28 days are added as auto keywords until the site reaches its keyword allowance. Keywords you add yourself are always checked first; auto-seeded ones fill the remaining slots and never overwrite a keyword you pinned. See the SEO tools page for how rank checks work.

The Search Console integration is included on every plan. If ingestion is not running for a connected site, reconnect the account from the site's settings and confirm the property matches the site domain.
